To Care or Not to Care…

I did a fun story last night about a Merrimac man (Missouri native), Ben Nelms, who took his love for Brett Favre to a whole new level.  He took out a full-page, color ad in the Hattiesburg American newspaper on Monday…our estimate is that he paid $2,000-$3,000 for the ad.  It’s an open-letter of sorts written directly to #4 — with hopes that it will convince him to return to the Vikings for one more year. Yes…Ben is a big Vikings fan.

We asked our viewers later on what they thought about the ad … specifically, we asked folks to text in whether they thought they ad will help Brett in his decision, not help, or if they just don’t care about it.

We got a whopping 380 responses!  And while that’s impressive on the surface, the devil is in the details.  My boss, Colin, took the time to dig a little deeper and looked at some of the phone numbers that texted in a response.  Turns out ONE person voted 297 times!! And what did they vote for?  You guessed it:  “don’t care.”

So to you crazy texter…thanks for not caring enough to text us your response 297 times!
